Katrina wishes to have children but her boyfriend Louis doesn’t. She falls in love with his best friend Ron, who becomes the man of her life. One night, returning drunk together from a birthday party, the two friends are involved in a car accident in which Ron loses his head and Louis his body. Thanks to a head transplant the two men survive, merged into one person. Katrina must now deal with the body and mind of two men to fulfill her dream. Sometimes it’s easier to enter a work through the window than through the front door in order to catch it at its most intimate. The hypothesis of this interesting documentary is that the truth of Hervé Guibert the artist was that he was a thwarted film-maker.
In his well-researched film, Anthony Doncque retraces the genealogy of Guibert’s cinematic desire from his failed admission to IDHEC to the late phase of video journals accompanying his agony.
To create a film was Guibert’s obsession. In the 1980s, he wrote three film scripts, one of which, co-authored with Isabelle Adjani, would have turned into a film if the actress hadn’t suddenly vanished into thin air. David’s decision to end his life is constantly with them, and as the trio float through the days at the hotel, they come face to face with their past, unfulfilled dreams and an almost unbearable present. Jessye is a young and modern Chinese woman who works for the national tourism office in China. She is sent to a small village in southern Italy to investigate the touristic potential of the region for the booming Chinese tourism industry. Her only contact initially is Franco, a solitary farmer who lives with his animals in the countryside and rents his rooms. In the village she also meets Salvatore, who owns the village pub and dreams of a modern lifestyle. Through these and other people of the region Jessye starts to learn more about the local traditions and their endangered Greek language that now have to face the invasion of the present-day expansionist tourism industry.
